name of coolant sensor
name of coolant sensor
I am a retired mechanic with a 2000 honda civic 4 cyl. I have a tiny coolant leak from what appears to be a coolant sensor on the passenger side, front facing the car engine . This sensor is just behind the transmission radiator coolant line . It appears to have 2 wires leading into the plug . I want to know the name of this sensor .It is not either of the two sensors near the distributor but as i said is located directly behind the radiator low on the motor on the passenger side . I only have the one car and don't want to pull it out but just want the NAME of this sensor so i can go to the parts house and get it .thanks for your help . George

Re: name of coolant sensor

I have no idea what you are looking at.
Again, please post a pic of what sensor you are talking about..
There's a sensor for the gauge, there's one for the computer, there's one for the radiator fan, there's s similar looking one on the VTEC solenoid, etc....maybe more.

Lots of people really hate my sense of humor, and some make it rather clear what their opinion is.....

Alright kids, let's try and keep this on track.
The message that the others are trying to convey is this: using a fairly vague description, we can't quite tell exactly which sensor to which you are referring. If you can post an actual picture and highlight the sensor in question, we'd be able to help you. Until then, there are a vast number of sensors that it could be.
