Speedometer twitch/clicking noise from engine
I am working on a 1998 honda civic dx. My current problem is the speedometer, it twitches around 20 mph and there is a clicking sound coming from the v.s.s area. Every time I drive the car (especially in reverse) I hear a clicking sound and for every click the speedo needle twitches. Iv already replaced the v.s.s and the instrument cluster, this did nothing.
I read that it could be the v.s.s drive gear which is located in the trans, is that what it sounds like? And is this fixable without taking the transmission apart? Has this happened to anyone else?
