1998 civic DX w/p2p-a92 ECU.

Hi to all I'm new to this forum and Hondas.

Going to keep this short I picked up a 1998 civic auto DX for $700 to use as a DD to save on gas. So the car had low compression on #4, so I pulled the motor & rebuild it myself. Reinstalled it and fired up without an issue but I noticed the "D4" light for the transmission was blinking. I did some home work & replaced the "transmission speed sensor" still the samething. So I replaced the ECU with a 37820-p2p-a92 and the blinking light stoped but the car won't start now. So my question is could I use this ECU cause I know it's from a 1999 auto civic EX. Any help would be great cause I would like to keep the car as my DD as gas prices are high.

Are either of your ecus from a VTEC motor? I believe the dx used a d16y7 and the ex uses a d16y8 motor.
