00 Honda Civic Instrument Panel Single Light Out
00 Honda Civic Instrument Panel Single Light Out
Hello all. I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX with 219,xxx miles on it. My problem is one of the instrument lights only works when it either feels like it or if I give it a "fonzi" touch to the dashboard above it. It's the light that lights up the RPM gauge. The odometer part also looks dark but that could be my imagination. My question is, is it a bulb going out or a short in a wire? And if I take it apart how hard is it to keep dust out of the area while working on it? My car is immaculately clean and it would drive me crazy if I tore open the panel and got dust in it. Thanks!

It's probably just the bulb... might even just be loose in the socket.
Dust, lol ... wouldn't worry about that either. You don't have to open up the cluster to change the bulbs

Yeah I found a DIY cluster thread on another site I'm gonna check it out tomorrow and change all the bulbs if that one is out. I feel dumb now about the dust thing lol. I thought for sure you had to tear open the cluster itself...
