inner or outer tie rod 00 si
ok i got a 00 civic si and i lifted it up cuz i heard a noise and wheel moves side to side on front drivers side...so how can i tell if its the inner or outter tie rod? is it best to just replace both? i got 160k miles on stock body. i wanted to diy cuz i dont trust mechanics in my area and to SAVE money for more suspension parts.

Takes 2 people (much easier anyway).
Jack up the front end, tires off the ground. Use jackstands properly.
Have someone else grab tire at 3 and 9 oclock. Wiggle the free play. Only the free play.
Get under it and see where the free movement is coming from while the other person is wiggling it.
Repeat the wiggling with hands at 6 and 12 oclock, check ball joints and bushings for free play.
Jack up the front end, tires off the ground. Use jackstands properly.
