Brakes rub?

Hi,
A few weeks ago I took my 98 ex in to NTB and had the wheels aligned and the brakes checked.
Earlier that week, I had noticed a very slight "fshhp" sound coming from the trunk area that to me sounded very much like a brake rubbing against the wheel, and it seemed to repeat for every rotation of the wheel. When the car got out of NTB, the sound was gone
Two weeks later, my parents ask me to move the car to the end of the driveway, which slopes down away from the house. I put the car in neutral and let it roll backwards down the driveway without turning the engine over, and then had to press pretty hard on the brake pedal to get the car to stop without power braking. The next day, the rubbing sound is back and more noticeable/louder.
Could I have messed something up by using the brakes without the car on? Any ideas on what's causing it? Sorry to ask such a basic question, but searching for "brakes go fshhhp" didn't turn up much
Thanks,

Re: Brakes rub?
When the engine is turned off, the brake booster becomes inoperative, which is why the pedal becomes hard and requires more effort in braking. It's normal as far as the pedal becomes normal after turning the engine ON. Are you sure that the sound came from rear end? if it's from the front side, it could be the vacuum booster with a leak.

Re: Brakes rub?
I'm fairly sure the sound is coming from behind me.
I can't hear it when the car is stopped, and the rubbing sound picks up frequency as I start to let the car move (engine on, start rolling down a small hill without it in gear).
Since you mentioned it, I also recently took the brake booster line off to try seafoam out on my engine and when I cleaned the throttle body. I'm confident I put it back correctly, but it's possible something happened there as well.
