New here. This is my 4 honda ive purchased.
Had-
1991 Civic Wagon A/T - 347k
1996 Civic Hatch M/T CX - 322K
1987 Civic Wagon M/T 161K
Sold all those Now picked a Red 96 Civic hatch back 5 speed 130k.
Now has following problems.
CEL on. Po141 code. Tryed Erasing code many times comes back 5 seconds later after car starts. The code is an 02 sensonor bank one sensor 2. I changed the sensor and still have the light on. Mecanic said theres no cat in the pipe, But cat is under engine, Compared to my other 96 this hatch is quick/fast, using alot of gas too. Only thing i can think of is the cat is removed? or hollowed out? Will a 02 sim turn the light off? will i pass ct emissions?
I would really like any help. Thanks in adavance.
Jay

What type of o2 sensor did you use? Hondas seem to be very picky when replacing them. Many people here suggest OEM because they never give you any issues when replacing them. If the cat was bad, you'd have a p0420. Both your o2 readings would be exactly the same(cat isn't doing its job).
If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Here is a bulletin that came up in the code search: http://chowcman.com/krispycreme2010/...r%20Wiring.pdf
Which sensor did you change? #2 is after the cat.
P0141 is related to the heater circuit of the O2 sensor.
Heater resistance should be 10-40 ohms.
Operating amperage has to be between 0.2 A and 1.8 A.
Aftermarket sensors quite often have the wrong heater resistance. That will turn on the check engine light right away. So will wiring problems.
36532-P2E-A01 is the part #, and I see why you don't want to buy a factory sensor. I have found OEM sensors in parts stores. Look for NTK or Denso brands. It may take some hunting though.

The 02 sensor i got is bocsh, that was put in and now has that one.
I got the denso brand. I will try that one.
If this doesnt work, is there any good 02 simulators that will work?
I need to pass CT emissions in 60 days.

47 pics of rusty exhaust doesn't impress me much LOL.
A simulator probably won't pass a visual exam.
Figure out what car and engine version you have and check your part number against the Denso website here: http://www.densoaftermarket.com/cata....php?part=o2sn
Yours is a "downstream" sensor, and it has to be an oxygen sensor, not an A/F sensor (air/fuel ratio sensor). They are different.
Plug in the Denso sensor and see if the engine light stays off longer than it did (it came back on in 5 seconds, right?) If it stays off longer than 10 seconds then bolt it in.
