Clutch replacement shops in Houston
Clutch replacement shops in Houston
Hi all,
I went to the mechanic today, and he drove my car, and said that my clutch pedal is soft which means that the clutch is on its way out. That mechanic works on civics all the time (I have 99 EX). So I asked for labor estimate, and he said it would cost $390 for labor (5.5 to 6 hours at about 65-75 dollars per hour). Considering the amount of hours and hourly rate the price seems to be fine. But just out of curiosity I went on repairpal.com and got a range of $277-$361 for labor for the job... Does anyone here from Houston know a shop that would charge about $277 for labor for clutch replacement on 99 civic EX? Or any shop or person that would do it for less than $390? I had a friend mechanic in Cleveland who would do the job for $300 including parts, but I have not yet found a friend like that in Houston (he had a garage next to his house). And the second question is what brand for clutch would you recommend? I read that EXEDY is good. What do you think? The car is just for daily driving in the city.
Hope to hear some answers soon.
