CEL Light- Catalytic COnvertor
CEL Light- Catalytic COnvertor
2000 Civic EX 4 door
Need a catalytic convertor, car has 210,000 miles on it so i'm trying to put as little as money as possible into it.
I want to get an aftermarket direct-fit c/c.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?Make=...=p3286.c0.m282
Does anyone know which one would be a complete direct-fit for my 2000 civic EX 1.6L 4 door
Thanks so much!

If you have to pass emissions then you're better off biting the bullet and getting the OEM.

If not, pretty much any of the inline ones will work (kinda). Not the manifold/converter style. The reason those are so cheap is 'cause they have a lot less precious metals in them, hence they don't work near as well.
Or, you could hollow the one you have out and do the O2 sensor trick: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/2...on-w-pics.html That trick will also work if you do straight pipe or if the cheap eBay cat isn't doing the job.
It's a good idea to have new bolts on hand 'cause chances are you're gonna have to cut the bolts off, especially with 200K+ on it. Also, hit the bolts with penetrating oil the night before you work on it just in case they will come out with a wrench.
Chances are you need new O2 sensors too. If you're still getting the code after cat replacement try new sensors.
