2000 Civic EX check engine light
2000 Civic EX check engine light
My check engine light came on a few days ago. I brought it to the auto parts store, and it came back with code P0122. The guy said it could be the TP sensor, but then he said that I don't have one of those in my car. Does anyone know what else it could be with that code?

Yes, you have a TPS. I believe it's riveted to the side of the throttlebody. You have to drill out the rivets and replace it: http://www.rockauto.com/ or get the whole throttlebody at the dealer($$$).
I would highly recommend downloading the manual and diagnosing for P0122 just in case it's an open or short in the wire(s). All you need is a multi-meter.

you can get a complete used tb on ebay for $50, prolly cheaper than the sensor and then you dont need to calibrate the new sensor which is a big pain. make sure you get a tb for the same trans as you have now either auto or manual. there is a difference.
