Antifreeze just erupted from under my hood??
I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX...I just got the head gasket replaced about a month or two ago. I just came home and turned off my car and a few minutes later there was a hissing noise and some antifreeze leaked out from under the hood over the grille area. I propped up my hood and there's all this antifreeze pooled in the fuel line (?) area right behind the engine block. There doesn't appear to be any loose or split hoses and there's no leaking in the foot wells in the interior of the car. I thought it might have been the heater core but don't know the symptons for that on a Honda...I have NO idea what just happened and as far as I can tell the car is running at normal temperature. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions...
Re: Antifreeze just erupted from under my hood??
Well... It had to have let go somewhere. Check the water pipes that are on the cylinder head itself. Your supposed to replace the gaskets for them when you change the head gasket.
Re: Antifreeze just erupted from under my hood??
I'm mechanically retarded...where exactly are the water pipes? Or what do they look like? Me and my dad have both looked under the hood and cant seem to pinpoint where the leak came from...
