Help 96 honda civic

I have a 1996 Honda Civic Ex 1.6 SOHC VTEC and the other night I was driving and it was like the rev liminator kicked in at 4500 RPMs and I switched gears and it did it again so I turned off the car and coast started it and about five mins later it started loseing exceleration and when it came to a dead stop the engine died. Got it towed home it starts but sounds like its struggleing to stay alive, not a pretty sound at all. It is showing two codes being P0108 a bad map sensor and P1259 which is a VTEC malfunction. Any ideas where to start and what it could be to cause the engine to act like this? Any help is greatly appriciated.

the vtec screen is clean, the oil is full, recent full tuneup, all grounds are good, timing is in check, but copression test results:
Cylinder one: 180
Cylinder two: 150
Cylinder three: 180
Cylinder four: 0

Any Ideas

Re: Help 96 honda civic

It looks like there is an issue with cylinder 4 since it has no compression, but I'm sure you already knew that. Newfiedfan has had much more experience working with cars than me, so he should be able to give you a bit more info. Have you tested the MAP sensor itself(reference and ground)? You could have a vacuum leak somewhere(thinking back to the compression test).

Re: Help 96 honda civic

pull the valve cover off and redo the compression test, see if you hear a hissing from that cylinder when you crank it over, also crank it on average 4-5 times per cylinder. If the valves are not closing all the way you will not get good compression.
