Quick question about DTC or MIL reset

Hi, this is about 1998 civic EX sedan.
About a week ago, check engine light came on and the DTC was P0135 so I replaced an oxygen sensor yesterday but I didn't reset the code. My question is, do I need to reset the code or does the check engine light will automatically disappear after three cycles of driving or so?
Any response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Quick question about DTC or MIL reset

it will go away after some successful runs but I would just reset it anyhow, there are certain ones that will self reset and some which do not.

Thanks! I just wanted to let the light go but as you recommended, I will erase it somehow.

Re: Quick question about DTC or MIL reset

most OBDII scanners can erase codes. i recommend getting one as they are only $40 on ebay and leave it in the car so if the engine light comes on, you can read and/or erase the code.

Re: Quick question about DTC or MIL reset

Thanks for the reply. I made an order on Amazon, finally.
So, when I erase the code, only the code and related info, freeze frame, will be gone, not the additional information stored in ECM since ECM reset or battery replacement. Right? Sorry for the too many questions.
