D16Y7 Replacing Fuel Pressure Regulator

Hi,

Looking to replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR).

First step is relieve fuel pressure. I have done that by loosening the banjo nut on the Fuel Filter before and that has been a real pain. So suggest an alternative way to relieve fuel pressure. Engine: D16Y7 Honda Civic 97 Lx.
Thanks. Jack

Pull the fuel pump relay and run it until it dies.

Have done that before. The engine died instantly once I pulled the fuel pump relay. Is that normal? Thought it might run a few seconds.

Re: D16Y7 Replacing Fuel Pressure Regulator

depends on how much fuel pressure is there, I would crank it over a few more times without the fuel pump relay in there just to make sure the pressure is released.
