Mini me swap???

Has anyone on here done a mini me swap? My d16y8 out of my ex has spun a bearing so I am getting a d16y7 and gonna throw the head off the the vtec y8 on it and I'm not sure everything that needs to be done, I'd really like to know if anyone has done it and how hard it was, well if you can help me out It would be great! Thanks

I have not done it yet but have researched it, my advice is when you remove the head is do it in the reverse order of the tightening sequence a 1/4 turn at a time on each bolt until they are all loose, that will minimize the chance of warpage. Once off clean it with some t/b cleaner or carb cleaner. Use a rag to clean it. You will want to check the head with a feeler gauge and a good metal straightedge to see if there is any warpage, if it has some then get it machined. Change the water pump as its easier with the belt off and its cheap insurance againt overheating. You are going to want a torque wrench for sure. I would also change the intake mani gasket while your at it to ensure no vac leaks. Check out this link you will find it very useful.
