Okay, so i purchased a 1997 honda civic. with a v-tec engine, and an si manifold. I got pulled over by CHP, and now i have to go to a damn CA state referree. Long story short, i need to get a stock air box for my civic. I took it to a part yard, and no one there could quite figure it out. They tried at leat 10 honda air boxes. I need to get this done in a week. could someone let me know which air box i need? The intake has two oblong shaped tubes coming up into the hood, with nothing connected of course. Cant find anythhing that will fit on !

I will be posting a picture of the empy space to elaborate and so you can physically see.

BTW: The intake manifold im thinking is a 1996 si. But not too sure.

Why did you open your hood for CHP?
Did the officer have PROBABLE cause, for him to stop you and ask you to open your hood?

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? or sound like you do?
CHP Officers cannot force you to open your hood for them without any reasonable excuse
Though, they can ASK you to open your hood

My best suggestion?
Grab a SRI, or CAI, get a carbon sticker on it, and have an officer sign off the fix-it ticket

yeah he had reasonable cause, i had an aftermarket exhaust and my license plate is offset and pretty low

its not a fix it ticket , its an emissions ticket, i have to strip my car down bone stock now so some bored state ref can fully inspect my car. all i need is the whole stock air box assembly

Sorry, I just freaking hate it when people get pulled over by CHP for no reason.

They pulled me over in FRONT of a car meet.

I said "Why did you pull me over? I am not above the speed limit, I do not sound like a fart can, you have no reason to pull me over"

He asked me "Sir, can you please open your hood?"

I said "No, you have no reason to look through my hood. Look, -points out that I drive an AUTOMATIC- what kind of mods would I do to an automatic, I dont even have an aftermarket exhaust"

all he could say was "Sorry for your incovenience, have a nice day"

I learned that they have no right to look through your hood if you have no upgrades because I live next to a police officer who told me so.
They're just pulling any import car over because they feel like it.



but anyways, back on point, try taking it to several car salvage yards, they should have a fit somewhere, if you live in norcal, I could help you better
