Question Need help with cat converter

Okay guys, so I drive a 2000 Civic DX, I got it in July of last year. From the beginning I could tell something was odd about the way it drove. It had really bad performance on the freeway especially. Sometimes it even shook a tiny bit when starting. I got a tune up and replaced the distributor, this did help a lot, it gave a lot of the performance back. But still she shakes up a storm a tiny bit when starting and has a little lag, and not to mention I'm losing about 140 Miles per tank! Its killing me!

But anyway, to the point. I took it in and the person who inspected it told me that the cat was clogged and that its not a mandatory thing unless its killing me on MPG's, which it kind of is. Ive done some research and found some for as low as 70 bucks, but they all seem to look different. Some appear to have longer pipes than others, some are shorter... I'm just wondering if anyone can help me find what I really need that will also fit my budget (which is pretty much nothing, lol.)

So if anyone knows anything please reply! Thanks!

Re: Need help with cat converter

may want to try and find a slightly used oem one, they always work better than aftermarket. but yeah a clogged cat can cause alot of issues with the way the car runs and should be replaced soon.

70 bucks is too cheap, might not be the right part. I would check with your honda warranty, I know certain year cars had extended warranty up to 12 years (going by memory) and 150k miles on anything emissions related.
