2000 Honda Civic EX transmission issues

This problem started a few weeks ago. I have check the trans. fl levels and it was good. The fluid was not burnt up either. When I drive off from a dead stop the trans slips a bit b/f it catches. When I drop it down to the low gear the problem doesn't happen. It only happens when its in D4. What are some common parts that can fail to cause this? Will I need to get a whole new transmission? Any info would help out, guides, links, anything.

bucknut, I just started havin the same problem, it started last week as soon as the weather got cold. Best I can tell from reading other posts is that the o-rings in the tranny are getting old and brittle, and when the tranny warms up the o-rings soften up and the problem stops,(for now) Seems like the only temp. fix is to change the tranny fluid (witch i've never done) But soon the tranny will be F%$#ed. Let me know what you find out. thanks,BOSHARK
