Honda Civic Acrylic Problems

I was going to work the other day and I got to talking with this woman about how bad my car's acrylic has gotten. She told me that it wasn't normal how bad my acrylic was peeling off and that I should really talk to honda or my insurance and see about getting it fixed. She then told me her brother would be able to help talk to honda if need be to get this fixed.

I have always figured that the bad acrylic was just because of its age. My car is a 1996 Honda Civic EX two door. After talking to that woman, I realized that after all these years of driving this car, I don't think I've seen another car with anything close to the amount of peeling acrylic mine has.

I was hoping this forum would be able to offer an opinion on whether my car is just old and beat up or somehwere along the line honda had bad acrylic and I could get this fixed.

It never hurts to make a few phone calls and and see where that gets you. It's over 10 years old so I doubt they will do anything but it's always worth a shot.

its a defect alot of times. i had one of my side molding pieces totally fall apart and i had to order a new one. the clear coat just flaked off like yours. we also have a documented issue on the rear bumper peeling for 01-05 civic.

Re: Honda Civic Acrylic Problems

I'm going to call honda Monday morning, I'm a little scared because it seems like a daunting task trying to get something like this fixed. I know that they will put up all their guns trying to displace the blame for this and not want to try to do anything at all to fix it.
