Buying my first Civic.
No pics yet, sorry.
1997 HX. Silver. Five speed. 130,000 miles. Salvage title(most likely from a house flood).
Found the car on Craigslist. Went down to North Hollywood to check it out a few times, and had it taken to a mechanic.
Compresion, clutch, and electrics are fine. It needs new tires and brakes though.
The interior's decent, but could use a good vacuuming. Same with the exterior. New silver paint, but could use a good wash and wax.
A/C seems to work too! ^.^
Driver-side window wasn't rolling up, but the mechanic re-adjusted the regulator, and it's operating fine now.
It has an alarm, been lowered a couple inches, and has an aftermarket muffler(which doesn't sound like a lawnmower so i'm quite happy with it).
He wanted $3000 for it, but I got him to drop it to $2900 because of the tires and brakes. He said he's going to take care of getting it washed, as well as getting an oil-change.
He's coming by to drop the car off tomorrow, so I should have pictures of it soon.

Re: Buying my first Civic.
Alright, so I did the right thing and got a Carfax on the thing.
It WAS in an accident it seems.
Junk/Salvage title. But it's also got a rebuilt certificate.
I'd unfortunatly be the seventh owner, but it IS eleven years old.
And with only 130,000 miles, it hasn't seen all that much driving for being as old as it is.
It failed emissions in 2004, but the next day shows that it passed emissions. And has passed inspections since then.
So my guess, from what i've seen of the car, it was totalled from being rear-ended. Was rebuilt however, which requires an inspection before it can be considered road-worthy again.
Electrics - Okay
Frame - Okay
Clutch - Okay
Compression - Okay
Whatcha'll think?
