So I inquired about an alternator at the Singer website. I was given prices but also offered an ELD bypass for $55 shipped. I thought how cool. I mean Steve Mead website has a how-to but it's quite complex, sorta. I thought maybe for $55 it coud be a quick install avoiding too much complexity.
This is what I received:
As you can see it appears to go between the alternator and the stock 4pin connecter. Am I right?
Anyway, I feel jipped, taken. This for $55? Am I missing something?
Edit: It was neatly wrapped in electrical tape but I took it apart to see underneath.

That was $50 dollar electrical tape!! How dare you!
Yeah I'm sure about bypassing the ELD but yeah seems ridiculous for $55 when you could cut or pull the pins out the connector. Sorry man

Sorry to say but you got exactly what was advertised.
Looks like quality connectors and the correct gauge wires, the fact you expected a additional part to be needed is your own expectation.

Finally installed this piece today, along with a 130amp alternator I purchased on ebay. Car runs very smoothly. Battery is a Kinetic hcr1400r-blu.
Currently running a Zapco st-4xsq and Rockford Prime R500x1D. Total wattage is about 1000 watts. I'll eventually uprade the Rockford to the R1200. Battery will get an upgrade also but we're talking next year.
