I am so frustrated!!! Heres what I'm dealing with....
I just bought a sub, a box, and an amp. I got the Rockford Fosgate wiring kit...
I ran all of my wires, connected everything. My amp has power and i can hear the sub click on when i turn the amp on.... So they work and everything
My head unit, the deh-p6400, is supposed to have a way to turn the subwoofer "on", but I can't get it to happen. The amp is connected to the rear pre-outs... SO I was clicking thru the Audio menu, and its supposed to say SW-1, and from there you turn it on... All I get is the Bass, Treb, Bal/Fade, and Loud settings.. its like theres not even a listing to turn the sub on.... I am really going crazy with this one...
should i just buy a new headunit? LOL one that plays mp3s and is motorized =)
Anyway, PLEASE help me... and if u want, u can email me

thanks a TON

I have the 7k one and it does the same thing. You just have to play w/ it until you find it. There will be a bunch of settings.
I think there are 2 sub menus for sure for the sub. ..... but you have to turn the rears into sub outputs first. I think it might be in one of the other menus or something. There are also menu's when the radio is off that set brightness and stuff. Maybe its in there.
One menu is:
Sub on / off (up or down)
Sub in phase / out phase (left or right)
Second is:
Sub level (up / down)
Sub freq 50/80/125 (left or right)
Good luck.

I've got the 7300 unit, so I think it should be the same. Now, first question, how many outputs does it have. My h/u has three, the third set is a sub-out, and it's on the deck, under the wire harness, not the pig-tails. If you don't have those, then yeah, use the rear outs. Now, to set up the deck, turn it off. Then press and hold the "audio" button, until the menu comes up. Keep pressing the "audio" button until you come to sub-output. Right now, your deck is set to "Rear sp-Full", use the arrow buttons to switch it to "Sub-out". Then press the "Esc" button, it should go back to the clock display, if you have it on. Turn the deck on, and use the "audio" button to scan through the menu again. There should be a "Sub On/Off" setting, and their might be a "sub level" and other settings appear.
Hope that helps.
