got a sub..now i need help with the amp
hey i just bought a sony xs L121p5. it's power range is 90 - 350 watts RMS. and the peak is 1200 Watts. am i correct in now shopping for an amp that is limited to 350 watts RMS x 1 bridged mono at 4 ohms? i am planning to bridge it mono to only feed the sub and nothing else. would my sub blow if i went with an amp that was higher watts RMS when bridged mono? also, peak power for my sub...how does that affect my amp buying decisions...or does it affect it at all. any insight helps guys. sorry if this question is retardedly easy to you, i'm a newb when it comes to car audio.
Just get an amp that puts out about 350 watts mono at 4 ohms. You can always get more power and turn the gains down and have more headroom. It would be better to over power it than to underpower it. Also, if you ever decide to upgrade, a more powerful amp would give you more options.
