brax/helix
mcintosh
arc audio
sinfoni
amplitude
zapco
but let me be honest with you. unless youre gonna be playing with rta's, oscilloscope's, and rainbow reference 9 thousand dollar components, my kicker 600.4 will sound just as good as your 4 thousand dollar helix amp on a mediocre set of components. if the install is done well

Diamond Audio is good, I've started using Concept stuff (www.conceptconcept.com) they are absolutely awesome for the price. Lightning Audio is decent, the bolt stuff is cheap, but they tend to put out pretty close to what they're rated at. Its good bargain stuff. The higher end LA stuff like the Strike series I think, is a lot better but harder to find in stores. I like my concept stuff.
I have a clarion APX200.2, and Lightning Audio B200.2, and a Pioneer GM-X364 that I have extra that I am probably going to sell. If you're interested in any of them I can give you specs or whatever. just PM me.

thats why i said if the install is done well, sure you could spend a buttload of money on a better amp and get a better sound, but get a mediocre amp and do a superb install and itll be better
define a well done install... it was basically the same install, well, same power cable, same RCA's, same remote, same speaker wire. i only cleaned up the Install when I put the McIntosh in.
Re: Good amps
id pull off Lightning Audio, Rockford Fosgate, audiobahn, new autotek and planet audio form yoru list, personally.
and hifonics, while an absolutely outstanding performer, cant really compete with some of the others on yrou list, while outperforming others as well.
if you are looking for paramount sound quality, look into TRU amplifiers. even their entry level amplifiers will/have proven to blow away just about every other amplifier on the market. 2 years of R&D really took these amplifiers far.
you will be paying for this w7 of amplifiers, however.

i have two diamond audio amps, and i love them, but they were expensive. i recently heard a set of diamond audio HEX components running on JL's new "e-series" amp (the 2 channel version) and was really impressed. the JL e series 2 channel does something like 45x2 @4ohms, and its about $200, but wow, that amp kicks. as far as i know, the HEX's aren't too effecient, but this amp got the speakers going really nice. if you are looking for a nice, small, inexpensive yet quality amp, look into JL e-series.

memphis is great.. i love my memphis belle
(i have one of the old memphis belles.. class A, and puts out 900W RMS over 6 channels)
it definately runs my sub better than my alpine M300 did
its also running 4 other speakers, very clean sound

but i would also recommend alpine, they're plenty good enough for any install you would be doing.. unless you're going all out for competitions

hifonics are fairly decent amps, especially for the price tag they have, true, as rabbit said, they will underperform to some of the amps on your list, yet they will also overperform some of the amps on there, i have a couple of JL amps, they are pretty good amps, but in my honest opinion, they aren't worth what i spent on them, determine your budget, then let that help decide which amp you get, also, if possible, go to an audio shop and (if they will let you) play with some of the amps, and see which you like and which suits your listening tastes, features you want, etc...

why pull LA and RF off the list?
when it comes to amps, here is the bottom line. If you input a clean unclipped signal, 98% of amps will amplifiy that signal clean and unclipped. Your paying for how much it will amplify the signal, looks, features (crossovers, bass *****, ect) warranty and the name brand. A jensen amp outputing 25 watts unclipped will sound the same as a TRU amp outputing 25 watts unclipped. in the car environment (in a civic no less) with all the noise from the road, most likely and intake, exhaust, rims with bigger tires all creating more noise, all you really want is amplitude. Get a name brand amp, that will put out the advertised power that you like the looks of and has a strong warranty. I will personally be running all Lightning Audio Storm gear in my car.
