theres an amp install diy in the diy section, and if you search you might find 1 or 2 more.

also, to hyperhonda, youre not the only one professional here. if everyone just asked you there would be no need for this forum.

Ok hyperhonda...

I am connecting an EQ to a stock head and as you may know, the stock head unit does not have a remote wire. What can I use as a remote turn on?

Remote Turn On

Well, as most peolpe know the stock unit isnt supost to have aftermarket devises attatched to it, and if i understand your question right, i think you want to know what gauge wire to use if so i would go with ..... 15 gauge, if what you mean is there another way to hook up the unite then i would go with a PCD remote converter unit out of a crutch feild mag, i think they still make them and still sell them, if not you might want to consider getting a new deck, best of luck hope i helped, if you have any more questions PM me or post a message in the forum.

I do believe Chris Evert said it best: "No man who had truly had such accomplishments and financial cushioning to support such education and equipment would be so lacking in ego that they felt they had to stress how qualified they were in terms of things they owned, and paper certificates...Rather than being able to prove their worth by displaying knowledge."

A PCD remote converter? WHAT? You may as well tell the kid to buy a continium transfunctioner.

Just hook your EQ remote lead to the Ignition wire behind the radio. I believe its Red, but it has been awhile since I have had to use that, so just check that theres voltage to it only when the car is on. SAVE YOUR MONEY, you don't need a PCD or whatever hes talkin about.

i thought wire guages were even as in 12 guage, 14 guage, 16 guage. i also thought that crutchfield was one word and that most eq's have only RCA inputs so you will also need a line output converter. my advice is sell that eq and get a deck. you can also use the factory switched power that all decks have and a relay to connect to whatever you want.

Alex...The EQ (Audio Control) have a speaker level input so I don't need an RCA, but I am considering to get and LOC to boost up the voltage. The sold my alpine HU so I can use my stock HU to power up my system. Besides, a stock HU + EQ + LOC is almost equivalent to most aftermarket HU with a few exceptions. Aftermarket HU does look better, but I don't care about the looks. The good thing is, with a OEM HU, it will be a determent when someone plans to break into my car. Just my opinions.

A system will only sound as good as the component before it.
