Talking got my components installed!!!

finally, after buying my 4-ch amp 6 weeks ago and leaving it in the shop til they install it, i finally did it. I had been waiting for my 6.5" components (Kicker RS6). The amp I got for them is the Kicker KX800.4. This combo ROOOOOCKS!!! I also have a Kicker 1200.1 pushing 2 Kicker CompVRs 15s. The whole thing gets LOOOOOUD!! It's amazing. It's the baddest system I've had so far (and trust me I've had a lot) The only bad thing about the components is thatthe tweeters didn't fit properly in the stock EX pod location. So instead of being IN the pod, they had to be superglued ON it. Looks pretty clean though. Since I am running so much power I will definetly have to get a yellow top.....maybe 2 w/ an isolator. Anyways, just wanted to let ya'll in on the progress.

Extra batteries don't help at all, all they do is add stress to your alternator which is what should be doing all the work. I would reccomend upgrading all your ground wires to at least 4 guage. Or just buying a High Output alternator from mralternator.com I think their only $240 for a 120amp. THat will give out all the juice you'll ever need.

ok ok. i already have 4g grounds. I'm just gonna replace the stock battery with a optima yellow top. THEEEEEEN if I still drain THAT setup, I should go with a bigger alternator huh? I knew you'd come around Mohawkboom. thanks men

I'd go with a redtop. It's stilla deep cycle and has a higher group rting so it can deliver charge faster. better for starting up your ride. But that sounds like a very good idea.

Hey u might also want to put atleast one cap on each amp or one going to both.....

The set-up sounds sweet. I am looking into doing kicker componets as well how do u like the clarity of them? I was thinking about going with 6x9's in the back and a component set in the front. One of my friends that installs told me that the clairty is not as good as boston and that i should invest the small amount of money in the difference. I listen to almost everything and looking for a good all aorund sound. Do u think the kicker's are clear enough??? Thanks!

yes kicker is very clear. I pump that sucker LOUD with no distortion at all. I decided to go with all KICKER gear, that is why I didnt go Boston. Oh, and I DO have ONE cap hooked to my KX1200.1, but it wasnt necessary because that amp has a built-in capacitor. I just had it hooked up because I had a new cap that was feeling lonely. It won't HURT, would it (mohawkboom)???

so u thought about going boston......cause i am in the same situation i want all kicker but thinking about boston.....if u have no prob with it then i think i may go with all kicker as well. WHAT SIZE 6x9's do u have in ur rear deck and how hard was the install?

a Cap won't help at all, it's just one more thing that you're alternator has to charge back up. get a HO alt, either a 120 or 135 with a red top and you won't need a second batter or even the one cap you have now.
