Window Roll up Wiring
I have a Viper 300 alarm and I wanted to get the window automation system(viper 530T) is this easy to wire into an existing alarm? Any tips, tricks?
as far as i inderstand, it simply takes a pulse from a spare channel on the alarm, and rolls the windows down till it senses a load on the motors, stopping the windows.
should be pretty cut and dry, just window outputs, power, and trigger input. knowing DEI, that will translate into a wire harness of about 25 or so wires
but it shoudl seriously not bee to hard if yrou used to doing work on yrou car, readio installs, amplifier installs, shoudlnt be to hard at all.

tips are to equilize all yoru wire lengths just before you put the taps on, then tape them all up with electrical tape, it makes the job look more professional than to have a cluster of wiring down there.
i would reccommend cutting power and reconnecting it, rather than tapping power. it will make yrou power connection a little more reliable, and it wont be like you are cutting into the factory harnesses.
wherever you find the window wiring, id trace them till you found either the most convenient spot, or closest spot you can to the alarm brain, and tap there, to avoid having a spider web or wiring around yrou car.
and cleanliness is close to godliness! try to keep it clean! may not seem important, but when you service rou car, it becomes a huge issue....

It's not to difficult but it just takes a little effort to get the wires in the door but othere than that few wires. White Rabbit is right tape your wires it not only looks better its easier to find your wires and it's less confusing, I put the same module in my car including one for my sunroof and it only took me about an hour but I am a professional installer if you've never done one it may take you a little longer.
i will get them to you by the end of sat, you're gonna need a 530 t which does 2 windows up and down. if you have an ex civic then you can get a 529t which does the sunroof.
you will need to run the wires into the door through the rubber boot, it's pretty easy, i just need to get into work and look up the colors and post for you

so i could take 3 separate imputs and either roll the windows up roll them down OR crack them? ive got ALL three options with the single module? i must admit, i did not expect to have so much control with a single module....
or is it only 2 function, either up, either down, either crack, choose 2 of 3?

white rabbit: they roll up automatically when you arm them.

yes white rabbit, you would be able to make a button control up too if you wanted, the module uses a - pulse from the ground when armed on the alarm to close the windows, so a pulse from a channel would work as well. To open the windows you just need a validity channel, if you just press the button it will crack the windows, if you continue to hold the button for 3 sec. it will roll em all the way down. and dont forget about the one touch up AND down on BOTH windows, to get it from the passenger switch you will have to run 2 wires across the car though.
BZ, i installed my own powerwindows, so i got that covered
thank you both, it was driving me crazy trying to sort out all teh modules available online, looking for one that would do what i wanted, this is it!
