Amp overheating...need help
I recently built a new amp rack... and it seems to lower the amount of air flow to my amps especially when my seats are up... I have seen them get up to about 113 degrees farenhit... I was wondering if it would work if I put fans in the back of it in my trunk blowing air to the back's of the amps... or do I need to have them facing a certain location on the amp... thanks for your time... and any Help.

How close are your seats to your amps? Also, did you pick a new grounding point for your amps when you built the rack, or lengthen your ground wire? If you're adding a cooling fan(s) the should be above your amp(s). Heat rises so put the fans where the heat is going.

Are you using rear speakers? my friend has a 94 passat, he has a motorized amp rack that is just below where rear speakers would be mounted, he installed fans in the back deck to circulate cool air from the cabin of the car over the amps. this works very well for him because he is able to circulate cool cabin air to his amps instead of just blwoing more hot air from the already hot trunk over his amps
