I assume you already have a HU.

Be prepared to fork over cash for amp wiring hardware, dist block, sub box, rca's, etc.....

You may be able to save some cash by getting a 2 channel amp for the fronts only and run the rears off deck power.

My thoughts on the whole rear speaker thing is that having them is good and bad. They tend to degrade voice since the singer no longer seems to be in front of you. They enhance sounds like symbols that are nice to have a surround effect. I settled for running them off the deck. The get enough power to produce the highs while not being too overly active in voice reproduction.

Enjoy ...

heh... a lot of people might not like this and for higher end more powerful systems this is probably a bad idea.... but...

You can save money by buying a 4 AWG kit from Wal-mart... Sosche (sp?) makes a 4AWG dual amp kit for like $24 or $25 which is a really good deal. I installed it in my car and its very nice, especially for the price. You get a 4AWG wire with fuse, a distribution block, enough 8AWG for two amps, 8AWG ground for two amps, 2 sets of RCAs that are the length of the car, and good length remote wire. Copper is copper when it comes to power and ground a such. Better rca cables wouldn't hurt, but still the price is good. Their 4AWG is probably closer to 5AWG and their 8AWG probably closer to 9, but its still pretty good and it would probably be fine for your setup. Oh, and I'm using a rockford fosgate inline fuse instead of the one in the kit because I like it better, just FYI. The rest of your setup looks fine to me. Do the kappas fit in the front doors without modification? Do they just need a spacer? I have the reference series speakers and then I replaced the 6x9s and I have an eclipse sub. Sometimes you need the rears and sometimes you don't, I know with my reference series speakers I needed the rears but I don't know how good kappas sound so you may not need them. It really depends. Good luck!

buy a JBL 600.1 for the subs and JBL180.2 for the front speakers and you should save a lot of money. Run the rears off the deck

What about MBQuart RSC 216 ??? they are cheaper than infinity components...

$721.00 from ikesound.com (including the rear speakers and sub you mentioned)

I would worry about cone flexing on those kappa 6x9's, but i cant say for sure. My green kappas had major cone flex issues, they were the last 6x9's ive ever owned.

a cone should be a static piece of material, that moves in and out, making sound. this is the ideal way it creates sound.

think about subwoofers you see. perfect cone moving in and out.

but if yoru cone is too thin and not stiff enough, like the old green kappas, then they could flex while playing. my kappas at full tilt looked liek the inside of coruggated cardboard except larger when i was at full tilt. you could see the waves going all the way around the cone.

in other wirds, rather htan a smooth flat conical shape, i saw standing waves in the cone, rased and lowered section.

what they do is color the sound, if you cnat hear it, then you dont have to worry about it, but if you cna, its a horrible sound, the bane of speaker manufacturers..... making a cone light enough for hte voice coil to toss around, yet strong enough not to flex.

ive never seen cone flex so bad as with my old green kappas. sold them to a buddy for $50 and never worried about them ever again.
