Unhappy Problem with system.??? (kinda long)

Well I've been having this problem for a while now and I cant figure out what is wrong.?? I have a Sony headunit, 600 Watt Amplifier, 2 12" Subs, 1 farad capacitor.... Everything was discussed with the shop I bought the products from and the subs should be able to run off of this amp... Well the problem is at no specific time I will listening to my system and the subs will sort of cut off but only the subs.. But they will come right back on its like a quick stop and then start again.. But sometimes which is starting to happen more now the hole stereo system turns off, the stereo, and subs just turn of and then after a couple of seconds turns back on again.... I redid all my amp wiring and checked the stereo wiring.. I'm like out of ideas on what it could be.... Please pass along any ideas.. thanks

You say everything shuts off. Everything is controlled by the Deck, and the general census here is that Sony decks suck.

My guess is that your deck is starting to go.

People here recommend Pioneer, Eclipse, and Alpine pretty heavily.

Personally I haven't had anything but Pioneer decks for the past 10 years and have never had a problem. Then again I never have anything long enough to have a problem either. Damn upgrade bug always gets me.

if your interior speakers are powered off that amp also, maybe it's the protection system kicking in, maybe the subs were wired in an ohm load not supported by the amplifier? is the amplifier hot? Just an idea :-/

Ed - Concerning the ohm load I checked with the guys that sold it to me and they check the specs on the amp and according to the specs it should work...

About the headunit I think it might be the headunit because why would all the speakers cut off ??? I need to get that checked.. By chance does anyone know if a shop that sells system can in anyway check the unit or would have to be sent away..??
