How Strong Is My 200 Watt Sub?

I have this Infinity Basslink (self-powered 200w sub in the back). Today I was walking around Bestbuy and I see some of these speakers that are not subs (6"x9" that output 350watts) which cost only 1/3rd of my basslink. I'm guessing the basslink outputs more on the lower frequencies, but any comments on this? I'm thinking of selling my Basslink and changing the all the stock speakers.

Speakers don't have any output in watts..that is simply the amount of power they can supposedly handle. soeakers put out sound.

Wattage ratings cannot be used to determine how loud or how good a spaker is. Also any 6x9 that claims to be able to handle 350Wwatts is a manufacturer lie. Most 6x9's can tandle about 75 watts RMS. Some up to 200 at most.

hahaha, that's pretty damn funny.

as for the speaker watts, that number is probably *peak*, I hate it how shops display the peak number instead of the RMS number.

Infinity Perfects do handle 350 bud....he didn't say RMS so you shouldn't assume it and make him look dumb. Anyways, keep the sub, speakers don't have any kick. I did the speakers first and it was alright but I dont know where I would be without my sub...
