Results of dynamat install
Well, I finally got the time to take my car apart and put some dynamat around. So far I have all four doors done (sedan), the rear deck, and trunk. Unfortunately, I didn't get the results I was looking for. It didn't help road noise at all. It did increase the quality of sound from the speakers, although the sub level seems to have dropped. I was fooled by the ads that say this product reduces road noise.
Dynamat actually lowers vibration and panel resonance, NOT road noise. When I do the floor, I'll probably use a little dynamat and also some V-comp absorbing foam. Just wanted to let you know my experience.

Dynamt does an excellent job if applied correctly. It will reduce road noise somewhat but it is not designed for that purpose. Like you mentioned it is a damping mat to reduce resonance. TacMat or something similar in conjunction with the Dynamat will actually help reduce road noise. How many layers did you put on the doors and floors?

i put a layer of rammatt down, it helped with both road noise and viberations. I would suggest another layer in the doors. I put it both on the outer shell of the door and the inner one. i still wanna do another layer on them and the floor

dynamat regular is only 40 mils thick...it's not the greatest deadener in 1 layer. and it's a little thin..
Raam Mat, fatmat and brown bread are all 60 mils think and aluminum backed which helps a little more with road noise and deadens noticably better than dynamat regular. and it's even cheaper

I'm thinking about doing the floors with vcomp for road noise. Hope this helps. And I only did one layer of extreme dynamat on the doors, rear deck, and trunk.--no noticable difference.
hi,
what kind of gule you guys use to glue back the factory white sheet back on the dool panel?
for fatmat, we need to first remove the factory white sheet on door panel, then apply fatmat on door panel, but then, how do I glue back the white sheet? what kind of glue do I use?
thanks

IMO dynamat and fatmat are worthless for improving sound or killing road noise, only good for stopping rattles.

Actually, dynamat did help noticably with speaker panel distortion. It made the speakers sound cleaner and louder. It is not a sound absorbing mat and won't help with road noise unless you add a lot of layers.
