Adjusting tweeters on crossover

I have the infinity reference 605cs component set in my front doors and I just recently added a sub and stuff so I'm having trouble with the balance. I think my problem is the infinity tweeters are just too loud in the OEM tweeter pods. The reference crossover has a place that says Tweeter -3dB on it, so would that help to balance the tweeter out more with the midrange? Is it common for people to make these adjustments on their crossovers for component sets? I don't really want to take my doors apart to change the crossover if its a bad idea.

is it common though for people to adjust the tweeters down like that? or do most people give them full power?

On my crossover there is only a -3dB on there for the tweeters and after wiring it up to that I'm thinking that a -6 would even be better if there was a way to do it. The crossover doesn't have an extra adjustment to go down but is there any way to wire something in between the crossover and the tweeter that might bring it down a little more? Or am I stuck?
