Subs for Friend

alright, a friend of mine has a 94' Z-71 extended cab, and is going to be putting in some 10 in. sub(s). he is really wanting to use q-logic thunderforms or some type of custom enclosure under the rear seat. i told him i could build him a box that'd fit, but he said he really wants the stock apperance of the thunderform. i told him i could get the carpet and all that's match up to the factory color. hell, i have built tons of boxes, and he wouldn't know it wasn't factory. i am thinking that he is going to waste money on the thunderform anyway, but i really dont care cause its his money. anyway, if he goes this way, he'll have about 0.65 cubes per woofer, and i was wondering if any of you could suggest some subs that'd be loud and have good sq at the same time. he really wants it to pound, but i am going to make sure that it isn't that ghetto boom. also, he probably wont spend much more than about $175 per speaker. i was thinking something like a JL 10W0 or a W3. but if you know of something that'd be better for this install, then i am open to your suggestions. he may not spend that much on them. anyway, if you know of some good subs for cheaper that'd be fine as well. thanks in advance.

image dynamics IDQ 10 would work, or an eclipse alum 10 might. I know the alum 12 runs in around .75 or .8 cf perm so therefore the 10 will prolly go good there. audiomobile mass 10 could work. Theres lotsa small box woofers out there. what amp does he have to power them?

no amp yet... i will be looking for the amp once he decides on the subs... so i'm open on that as well... if you want you can suggest both, so i dont have to ask later...its going to be a new install, so everything has to be bought... should i tell him to let me build him a dual 10 box with either shared cubic volume, or one with seperate cubic volume to go in there? i am confident that i could do either cause i have built a bunch of boxes before...or should i let him waste his money on the thunderforms?

alright, i have convinced him to let me build the enclosure, and i have a question, before i undertake it... being that this is going under the rear seat, i was wondering what type of enclosure to build? the way i have it figured, i can get around .65 to .70 cubes out of it, unless he says that i can remove the jack and place it in his tool box, which i could probably get double out of it then, or possibly make it a dual box. but, if i cannot remove the jack, should i make it a closed box, or port it? i have figured it up both ways, and diagramed it each way, but i dont know which would be better/louder. we havent decided on the sub or amp yet, either, which also would have a great deal of bearing on which to do i am guessing. i think what were gonna do it make it a single sub box, and use the area where the jack is to mount the amp(s), cap, line driver, crossovers, whatever he wants located there... but mainly, i was wondering which type of bow to build... i am going to leave about an inch or so between the seat, and the top of the box, that way i can be assured that if i build a ported enclosure, it will still be able to suck air. but if it should be enclosed, then i can go to almost the bottom of the seat. of course, i will probably still leave the 1 inch or so, because it is looking like i am goint to have to either drop the sub in from the top or come in from the bottom, because of the height restrictions. any suggestions? it is only about a little less than 8 inches in height. i haven't looked at the thunder form to see which way the sub is mounted in it, but i am fairly certain that it is in the same fashion... suggestions please...
