need sum help with subs and amps
im getting a new setup for my car, and i was reading sum threads and it just got me more confused.
first, wut duz it mean if the specs for a sub says 4 ohms + 4 ohms? i think its sumthin about dual voice coil, but i have no idea wut that means. duz it affect at all how much power i need to power the subs with?
also, for amps that are bridgable into one channel for more power, are there any changes i have to do to my setup to accomodate this? and are there any disadvantages to bridging an amp?

dual voice coils mean that there are 2 sets of inputs on the speaker...this is usually done so that you can customze the impedance of the driver to fit your system. If you wire 2 -4OHMS in parallel, you get a 2-OHM load, if you do them in series you get an 8-OHM load. Or, you could run each coil independantly like 2 amps per sub (but make sure you have identical amps and subs that can handle that!!)
As for bridgeing, esentially, it sums the power form 2 channels to one so that you get twice the power for 1 speaker. It doesn't require anything special to be done to the amp besides rewiring the output acording to the instruction manual. This is kinda an old thread so i dunno if you're still following it or if you even care anymore, but if you are and have more ?'s, feel free to ask.
