I need some help picking out a system.

The stock stereo is just not doing it for me so I really want to get an upgrade and I don't know what's good on today's market. As of now I'm looking for and new head unit and a set of 6 1/2 componet speakers in the front and possibly 6X9's in the back to give a little more bass(but that's still up in the air). Depending on how that sounds I will later add a sub and an amp. The music I listen is mostly rock so the bass does really have to be pounding. I'm kinda going for quality rather than it being really loud. I wanna spend about $250 on the head unit (right now I'm think about the Clarion DXZ735 please tell what you think about that) and 150 on the componet and about 100 on the rear speakers. Your comments would be very helpful.
