ok i am looking at amps, but i dont understand the specs, i want an amp for 2, 12inch subs, so a 2 channel amp, there 2 watt numbers, a want some decent bass so i am guessing 400-500 watt subs, but when i look at amps, like the one below is say 75w on the title, then 150, and a 300, what does each mean, what exactly does this amp deliver to my subs. thanks

Well a good choice of an amp to run subs with is a mono block class d amp( 1 channel amp).

You want to look at amps in terms of rms wattage. Don't ever go by max power stamped on the amp because most cheap amps will have some insane number on the amp that it wont even come close to ever reaching.

Also if your look at 2 12's get 4ohm subs. This way when you bridge the 2 subs at the amp its a 2 ohm mono load which is perfect for most monoblock amps. So when shopping for an amp make sure its 2 ohm mono stable (almost every amp is 2 ohm stereo stable and they will say its 2 ohm stable so check carefully)

That mtx amp in the example is a 2 channel amp but its only 4 ohm mono. Meaning if you have 2 12's that are 4 ohms you would have to hook them up as 4 ohm stereo and would only get 2 x 75 out of the amp.

you should go out, listen to some subs, pick one out you like thats in your price range
then
go out and find an enclosure for them, or build it
