street glow problem

I am having a problem ever since I had my neons installed. It seems like every once in a while they will turn on and at other times they don't. Could it be that my battery is too low to run off of them (although they still have the problem with the car running). Or could it be something else that might be causing a problem like my audio system or something else in the car. Any ideas from anyone?

Internal Neon's or an underbody kit? If it's the internal ones, do they have seperate transformers (mini-neon rods). How are they powered/grounded. And what is the temperature where you are?

I had some Toucan mini-neons for a while that didnt like to turn on when they were cold....took a little while to warm up. Was only a prob. with the mini's though.

The other possibility is a problem I have now....I ran them off my cig-lighter, and it's not supplying enough power. When I really crank it (volume), they shut off.

There are so many possibilities, it's hard to diagnose without seeing them. I would check wiring first, if that doesnt help most likely it's a defective set of rods or a temperature problem.

They are underbody neons. Ill take a look at it and find out if its the switch. Its just odd that they sometimes work, sometimes dont. It seems like the car needs to be on for a while or driving to get them to work, but even then they dont sometimes.

Annoying none the less.

If you had them installed at a shop, take it back and make them fix it. If it's not an install problem, street glow should have a warranty on those things.

Hey I have the same problem. I have my streetglow hooked up to my remote for my alarm, (thats the on off switch). There is a relay under the hood of my car. I have to get a better relay for the lights because I think that this one is weak. The shop tat I had it done at is ordering my one ( a bigger and better heavy duty relay).

But yeah I ahve that exact same problem.

When i noticed it happening I poped open my hood and turned them on. I could hear the relay switch clicking but nothing was happening. So I gave it a little tap and they turned right on. The I turned them off and on again and they didn't turn on so i gave it another little tap and they turned on. So I am getting the relay replaced and everything should be fine afterwords. They seem to work most of the time though.

Do you ever hit your alarm remote and accidentally turn on your neons in the daytime and not notice it until later that night?!? I hate that, it happens about once a month to me.

I clip my keys to my belt loop. Then they hang down a little and I stuff them into my right pocket.
