Question help static with radio

I am having a big problem with my radio. I installed 2 kicker solobarics, with a phoenix gold 1200.1 amp. the amp is mounted to the back of the rear seat, and the box is in the trunk. If I turn the circuit breaker off, so my amp is not running then I get all my stations really clear. As soon as I turn on my amp, it all goes static. Does anyone know what I can do? I hate not having a radio. Thanks guys.

the power wire is interfering with your antenna cable

I am just wondering if I should not have my power wire running next to my antenna wire?

I said power twice instead of antenna wire

fonto, sometimes if its at a retarded angle it causes interference in the reception. I wouldn't know since i don't even have the presets on my radio set yet.

when i first installed my headunit, the reception sucked, but then i connected the power antenna wire up to the switched 12 volt wire on the headunit's harness, now the reception is much better, not as good as the oem hu's reception.

That is real strange? I've done plenty of amp installs on 2k1 and up civic without any problems? where exactly is the amp mounted?

The amp is mounted to the back of the back seat. It is on the larger fold down seat, mounted to the back. And my subs are in the trunk as well backed up close to the amp.

Sounds like your RCA cables. Tell me if this sounds like the problem that I had. After I installed my second amplifier for my speakers, everytime I turn on my car, there was an alternator whine. It increases and decreases depending on your cars RPM. When my car was only on accessory though, this was not a problem. Does this sound like the problem? Either that or you somehow don't have a good antenna connection. Check in on the back of the HU, and also on the passenger side right up under the dash, there is the black antenna wire. It plugs in right up under there, I know since I accidentally pulled mine out a few times. That may not be plugged in all the way or something like that. If you have any questions, PM me and I may be able to help more.

The thing is, is when I cut the power to my amp, then the radio is completely fine. So I don't think it is a bad connection. And I doubt it is the cables, because it doesnt depend on the rpm, and I dont hear a whine from the alternator.
