Speakers
Do i really need speakers? i want more bass, thats all i am looking for, i want to get a sony m800 deck, and a 10" sub with an xplod amp, do i really need to upgrade my speakers or keep em stock? plus what should i get for an amp, 2channel, multi chanel, or mono, cause i really dont understand the diffrence, sorry for being noobish, but eih were all once noobs
for the amp question, 4 channel means just that, 4 channels for for differente speakers, 2 channel for two and mono for sungle speaker setups (most likely sub only) If you're jsut getting one 10" sub, you'll either want a 2 channel abl bridges or a mono amp.
This is what I think. I have stock components and I have a JL Audio 12w3 with alpine M300 and alpine 7893 HU. The bass sounds great, but the thing is, the bass goes up alot louder then the speakers and drowns them out. I don't like that the bass can go so loud and there isn't much sound so if I were you, id just get some new speakers and a cheap and decent amp if you aren't big in car audio. Im fixing to install my JL XR component set with a Hifonics son of boltar amp and that should sound really nice with my sub.
For your sub, get a mono sub amp if thats the only upgrade your going to get. Mono sub amps are specifically made for subs. 2-ch amps are made for two sets of speaker, for example, the front components can be run off a 2-ch amp, but not the rear 6x9s and visversa. A 4 channel amp can run all four sets of speakers. Anything larger than a 4-ch amp can probably run all your speakers and a sub, I think that would be a 5-ch. Hope this helps, and do what your happy with.

If you change your speakers then you will hear the difference in the sound and be happier with them, However if you think your sub is drowning out your highs I would consider changing them.
