Amps
Amps
Hi, I'm interested in getting a new amp, what brand is a good one to go with. I have 2 10" subs, will become 2 12' in the near future when I get some extra cash....taking all good advice.

Welcome to the forums! Check out my ride page if you want to see my setup. MTX is probably the best brand for subs, provided you get a class D mono amp.
I use to have a Planet Audio 1200 Mono Block. It was 1ohm stable and rocked the hell out of my Kicker 12" Soloberic. Not too many people have heard of it but I will be buying another.

since our cars are so compact, it doesnt take much to get good sound. I had a rockford fosgate 700 amp and two 12's with dual voice coils and it was too much, currently i have an MTX amp, and a 12 inch polk audio sub and a monster cable cap, so it doesnt drain too much juice when the engine isnt running. my sub came in an air tight enclosure from the factory and kicks massive ***. pricey, but worth it IMO. btw, i work at a circuit city roadshop, any questions on installs, PM me.

it all depends on what kinda cd player you have and what kinda subs you have. umm i guess for a good basic amp i would look at pioneer or kenwood exceleon amplifiers. either one of those on any setup will give you great bump. I personally favor pioneer, i have a complete custom pioneer system in my car

what kinda of woofer you have so that we can see how much watts those woofer are pushing rms and at what ohms they are so we can wire them corectly. then we can go into what amp will give it enough watts.

Wow what missinformative help you guys sometimes give.
First off we need to know which specific subs you have?. Why do you want switch to 2 12's?. What wiring configuration are your subs?. Are you looking for good clean sound. Or you just want some loud bass? or a mix of the 2. Good sounding and loud?. How much money are you willing to spend?. DO you care about the physical appearance of the amplifier?.
Your question can't legitimately be answered untill we know what you have, and what you want. Once we know that reccomendations are a sinch
