Did you change your font speakers yet?. Your front stage is far more imporatant than the rear as that's where more of the sound you hear comes from..
What's your overall plan for your system, we can help ya save money and guide ya to the right parts..

oh i thought the rear would make a bigger difference. Well in that case whats a really good set of front speakers? and also should i get some new tweeters.
my plan is to replace all the speakers. then run a 15" soundstream spl 160 sub in a vented box.

Okay.. I'd reccomend getting component speakers for the front then. If your gonna be running a monster sub like that you might as well skip out rear speakers entirely. Just get a good amp for your front speakers and it'll get alot louder than rears off deck power and sound cleaner.
For your budget, there's quite a few good choices for components up front. You can always add the amp later if you wish.. or just add rear speakers..up to you/

not if you dont turn it up all the way. you could also get a good set of coaxial speakers, but they may not be as precise as components. just depends what you want, go listen to a whole bunch of speakers and judge by what you think, not what anyone else says.

How many times are we gonna cover this? Too much power doesnt blow stuff up, setting it and using it incorrectly does. My Quarts RMS power is 130 watts, and I am giving them 250 (yes, RMS, not peak)....no problems at all, in fact, i've got it tuned to the point where my tweeter protection barely lights up....and thats almost TWICE their recomended power.....keep in mind too, that the sony amp will probably push 150 watts once or twice in it's lifetime I'm pretty sure the rockford xover will mute the speaker (protection mode) when it gets too much power anyways....my old sony mobile es components did that....really annoying.
That 150W is a PEAK wattage rating, meaning, that's the absolute maximum that the amp possibly put out. The number that matters is the RMS power rating, which is usually about half of peak, so probably about 75x2 in this case. That's the power that the amp is capable of pushing on a consistent basis.
