Is there a newbie guide to subs+ amps?

I'm planning/want to have subs + amps installed but I have no idea which ones to buy and which brand subs are good.

I did a search but I have absolutle yno idea what everyone is talking about. damn

any help?

first you gotta tell us what you want...

1 - what do you listen to

2 - whats your goal (quality, block rocking, both)

3 - whats your budget

4 - do you care what it looks like?

5 - any brand preferences

from that we could probably narrow it down, and then youll have to go to a shop and listen to it to see what you like best

I'm just searching for subs/ amps some people are selling on the board.
Usually listen to everything. =).. no preference..

don't really care about how it looks and don't care about brand.

I'm just scared of buying something that doesn't work. I don't understand the specs on the amps/subs =(
