Pioneer 840MP Steering Wheel Remote
Pioneer 840MP Steering Wheel Remote
For those of you who have the steering wheel remote that came with the 840MP, does it work ANYWHERE on your steering wheel? I've been moving it around and really can't get it to work. I even tried the parking brake

it took me a day or two to figure out the science of it
ok, put it up at like 2 o clock or so (as far down as it will go on that top section)
and then you gotta hit the buttong with the tip of your finger, you cant have your hand around the whole remote
blame honda for this ...for the retarded radio positioning

that remote blows. i threw it out right after i put my HU in. crutchfield sells one for like 25 bucks after shipping, its a regular remote. i had a 25 credit on my account, so the remote wound up costin like 84 cents. it was the best 84 cents ive ever spent. the remote even controls all the audio settings.
I finally found the "sweet spot" for my remote. at about 9-10 o'clock, inside of the steering wheel. however, I could only get it to work if I mounted it upside down. atleast it works right?
I just had a great idea. I'm going to build a sort of "infra-red relay" that will basically catch the signal from the remote, and then send the signal to the head unit. This way I can position both the reciever and transmitter where they will work best, and connect it them with a cable. I'll get back to ya'll if it actually works. It shouldn't cost more than $5-$10
