is it ok to use 8 guage wires from amp to banana plug to sub?i have a pioneer gmx952 2 channel amp with 300wrms bridged and one inifinty perfect kappa 12 rated 350wrms, do i HAVE TO get the banana plug or can i just stick the wires in and tighten it?

Are you running the perfect ported or seal...just out of curiosity? If you are running ported, the Perfect can actually take 600 watts if you use an infrasonic filter at the correct frequency. Just check Infinity's box building paramiters (*sp) for porting them, and look how many watts they are using for the diagram and the excursion [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]

Also, are you running a 10 or a 12? I have tens that I put in my GFs car and they have this weird sound to them, and I thought it was just maybe from over excursion because I had them tuned high and don't have a proper infrasonic filter...but then I went to a car show and heard a car sponsored by Infinity that had 4 tens that made the same noise in a sealed fiberglass enclosure!! I have never heard this noise with Perfect 12s, so I think it may just be a 10 thing. Great subs otherwise...my girl love 'em

8 guage seems a lil much for 300 watts...maybe that is just me though


edit: oh, i just saw that you are getting a 12...great sub at a great price!! Good choice!
