rear speakers depth too deep...HELP!!

hey guys, i need some help with the final part of installing some speakers. my new 6x9 has a magnet that is too big and gets in the way of the horizontal bars running across the trunk...i believe these are the trunk springs. what are the consequences of removing these 2 bars or is there some sort of product i can buy at best buys to make the speakers a little higher? thx

some one made a diy to change those out for gas struts

you could do that so you wont need them anymore

yeah i just ran into that problem with my install. the parts for the gas struts DIY by grey are coming in the mail, but for the time being i just put spacers and raised the speakers about 1/4" above the deck. I had to shave some plastic, but it was a cheap fix.

I'm looking at the same problem. What speakers did you buy and do they sound good? I'm in the market for some new 6x9's too.

Thanks

try getting some kick panels and not using rear speakers at all...all of the sound should be coming from in front of you...

oh, the sound should be doing this... the speaker must be mounted like this... this has to be like this...

its all opinion mr sir... i personally consider myself somewhat of an audiophile (although my budget can't support it, so my setup isnt audiophile quality ), but i honestly believe that its all about what YOU think sounds best.. i am a rearfill junkie. i dont care HOW nice your stage is, to me it gets ruined if theres not any large amounts of rearfill... i want to be enveloped in music...lol... i want to bathe in it...lol... let this man have his rearfill...

ludlam, what you are failing to realize is that if you have properly placed and tuned front speakers, you don't need rear speakers. it will sound like you have rear fill even though there are no speakers back there. with a couple quick adjustments on the head unit, i can make all of the sound appear to come from behind me!

also ludlam, you are correct...it is whatever the individual likes. However, to have that perfect sound "stage"
in your car, the music should be coming from in front of you.

although you CAN set the frontstage to sound like its coming from the rear, and vice versa, its still not the same, and ive tried it... to each his own
