Single sub set up:need opinions

Im thinking about using a single MB Quart 10" reference in a sealed box. Anyone heard this set up or have a single ten set up? Im wondering if this would give me the sound quality and loudness im looking for. It would be receiving 300 wrms at 12 volts and 400 wrms at 14volts. Thanks.

That's cool, but i cant run that set up. I'd need more power for that sub.

Does anyone have a one 10" sub that is more comparable to this one? How does it sound? Thanks.

That sub isnt particularly great....if you want to stay in the 100-200 price range, go with a JL Audio 10W3v2... or a Alpine 10" TypeR.....250W RMS and either will be relatively clean and pretty loud. 300 watts will sound very nice with either one of those subs....I prefer the JL for SQ, but the Alpine can handle more power....so, it's up to you. Go to car audio shops and listen...it all depends on the type of music you like...I listen to mostly rock/raggae/rap, and I have 12's....sometimes I wish I had gotten 10's though...much tighter...oh well. BTW, retail on those subs is around $150-$175...you can find them cheaper on ebay or a site like www.buyloud.com.

with that power i alwyas always always go back to shiva..........

as to a single 10 setup, i know its nowhere close to what your looking at, but im running my buddies hcca 10 while he waits for opportunity to visit to install his car, and it gets D A M N D A M N loud for a single 10. so 10's do exst that will do everything you want, for sure.

but i still reccommend a single shiva

If you want to stay with MB Quart you should grab this sub which was their top-of-the-line until recently. Great SQ sub at a great price. This is a SQ sub but you can get some decent volume from them as well. MB Quart PWD254

its actually rated at 300W RMS... and you're right, I know people who run them on 600W RMS and havent done them any damage

and i can attest that its an amazing sub
