15" sub question
i know nadda about audio soo here goes.....i can get a 15" All-Chrome Woofer: 800 Watts Max; 400 Watts RMS; 4 Ohm Impedance; Rubber Surround; Kaptan Voice Coil; Screw Style Terminals. does this sound like its good? on and its made by american pro. i'm not at all familiar with audio companies so i'm not sure if this is reputable or if its like the APC of car audio.
that sub is much worse than being the "APC of car audio" don't buy that brand or any of the following:
Rockwood
JBC
Pyramid
American Pro
Boss
give a price range u want to spend and i am sure the peeps on this board can help u get a good system

i'm trying to think of a good system to hold me over until i can afford my 2 15" adire brahma and 2 10" adire brahma sub setup. anyone selling any subs and are the infinity reference any good. i'm looking in the 150 range or best bang for the buck.
You will want to give those subs at least 2.5 - 3 ft'3 a piece. I would tune them to about 35hz too. This would give you a good SQ and SPL mix. They should be able to handle 600w for daily driving. As for an amp.....if you do 2 e15k's I would get them with the 2ohm DVC and wire both to make 2 ohms. Then power that setup with a US Amps DE-1000. That would give you around 1200w, which is right at the 600w a piece. Unless your something other than a civic I'm not sure you could fit 3.

I_I with one sub on each wall firing forward..or all facing up..but bye bye to your entire trunk..
There's alot of 15's that work well in as little as 1.5cu.ft sealed..
the Ek15's would work pretty decent in 1.88cubes.. with the 315's you won't have to worry too much about low end extension ..that would take up about 7.8 cubes of trunk space with the outside diameters of the enclosure.
Mind you..you'd be adding about 550lbs to your trunk..with the subs and MDF

4 sheets of mdf and 3 30 pounds subs is 474 pounds, but ok... yeah, i guess you were right... wow.. i just realized how stupid heavy sub boxes are... add amp weight...
Two would be more than enough for daily application. I'm about through designing my system and have settled for 1 15". And the would be a RE XXX 15.

That will be driven by 1600w and in a 3.2ft'3 tuned to 33 box. Should be great for SQL.

sounds pretty slick....but how you gonna get your electrical system to support that much power?
I'll probably have to suffice with a class D, deep cell up front, and a Batcap in back until I get an HO alt. It also helps that US Amps new DE-1000 has a 92% efficiency. I guess I'll find out when I get it in.
i really doubt my box adds over 500 pounds to my car, a gallon of resin doesnt add as much weight to my car as a full sheet of MDF. i dont even think 2 gallons would. so lets think about the 3 or so gallons of resin, the several yards of 18 ounce roving (all that MIGHT be close to a sheet of mdf, what, 100 pounds?) then the one and a half sheets or so of MDF (ack heavy! but still not 500 pounds, easily liftable, even tossable b one guy) then the half sheet of .5 inch birch (a feather sitting on a brick) and the four 5/8" two foot long threaded rod bars, which are DAMN heavy considering they are only small steel rods!
am i at 500 pounds yet? no way, but the box is a good 22-28 cubic feet in size........
weight is just planning. if there is a will, there is a way. to make it light yet sturdy. ;D

you saved a few hundred lbs over MDF..but it's still alot of weight to your car.... If your box was MDF you'd needa turbo to get your car moving..
