Hey everyone, I finally broke down and decided to make my own custom ported box with the same dimensions on the JL Audio site for my 12w3. Heres the thing, could you all tell me the best way to keep all the sides together, probably screws, if there is a certain type please tell me, and caulk or something like that. The second question that I have is concerning the slots. Here is the box I am modeling mine after.

Now, the slots in this particular box are round and according to the picture, go through both sides I guess. How am I suposed to do it? I cut the holes in the same place across from each other, but I don't think that is it! Don't I have to put in some insert that pertrudes into the box? Lastly, the connection that is on all the boxes, where do I get that from so I can put one on my box and what type do I use? I would really appreciate your help. I would like to get almost everything done before the end of the weekend.

I would think if yer not gonna fiberglass then just using some wood type glue
and screws would work fairly well though someone else will know better.
As for the port, it does not go thru both sides. It is actually a tube that is cut
to the specified length for tuning. It does not go thru both sides. For the wire
connectors you can just buy a premade connector off of any site.

On sounddomain.com they have a 3" and 4" diameter porting kit. The specs for my box are 20"x18"x13". Which one of these would be the best to use for my box?

it says that the port has to be 15.XX inches but that is longer than the depth of the box so u would have to buy a 4" port kit and curve the port or angle it so its 15"
well thats what i take from the diagram someone with more experience with ported boxes than i do can give u more details
