new headunit, tweeters not working
Hey,
I just installed a new headunit today. Me and a friend did it, took us a little while but got thru it.
Sounds really good, but I noticed that my tweeters dont seemed to be hooked up anymore
and nothing is coming out of them....what happened?
Its a Pioneer DEH-6400, installed on a 2002 EX Coupe.
I used a wiring harness (still had to connect wire but???)
Thanks

You have an EX right? Did you take out the inline fuse that goes to the stock tweeter? Did you use the passive crossover supplied with the tweeter? If you didn't you should have.
edit: sorry, my bad...I thought you had said that you installed new components too.

I recieved a pair of speakers for free too because i purchased the headunit (circuit city). They are only like $30 speaker, they are profile's. Its a pair of 6x9's.
Are they any better than stock? The circuit city guy said they are probably equivalent to stock and they do suck, so should i stick the with stock pioneers??

If I recall, you have to combine the wires from the tweets and the woofers when you hook up to an aftermarket HU....crimp them together into the harness outputs for the fronts.....and the "upgrade" speakers are actualy worse than the factory speakers.....You should buy components anyway....the factory tweets are "crossed over" with a damn bass-blocker....lol.

Yeah, i wasnt planning on hooking up the crap speakers. I honestly think the stock speakers arent that bad , for stock. Im going to upgrade everything eventually...
Im just keeping them in the garage incase i blow my speakers, or something or if one of my friends needs 'em.
I got the tweeters working, dont know how, but our tweeters suck.
